When I started this writing journey I never expected to meet so many amazing people. Friends have come and gone. Some have moved up in the writing world and forgotten where they came from, some have stayed true to who they really are.
I will say that I've been fortunate and blessed at the same time to have had many people come into my life and touch it in some way.
Each person has left a lasting impression and mark in my heart and my memory.
This industry of authors is always changing but the one thing that never does change is how amazing some people are. I have made such wonderful friends that I hope to keep for life and consider many my second family.
You learn from every single person you meet. I say that people come into your life and they might not know it yet but they are there for a reason.
Have you met anyone who has changed your life in some way? Is the person still in your life?
Make sure to come and visit me on Facebook and my Official Site
stay naughty,

I totally agree, Savannah.
ReplyDeleteI've met some truly incredible people since joining the online community--people who've become close friends even though we've never met face to face. A few in particular have definitely enriched my day-to-day life. I'm constantly amazed and grateful that circumstances clicked into place, bringing these people to me!
Karla, you are luck to be surrounded by so many wonderful people. Ones who have come into your life. I wish you get to meet all those people.
DeleteI miss some of those that have come and gone, but appreciate the ones here now that much more. Great topic!
ReplyDeleteKissa, I do as well. It is sad that they are gone but I guess that is life.
DeleteI've met some really good people (like you) and some not so good people, but I've learned something from all of them.
ReplyDeleteI hope to keep as many of the good people in my life for as long as I can.
Great topic!
xoxo
Casey, thank you from the bottom of my heart. the feeling is mutual. You are an amazing woman and I'm blessed to know you.
DeleteYup. Me too, Savannah - lots and lots of wonderful supportive author-type people. You are among them.
ReplyDeleteJulia, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are as well. You are one of those who has touched my life.
Delete"Have you met anyone who has changed your life in some way? Is the person still in your life?"
ReplyDeleteShe sure is--she wrote this post. :-)
I've met many people in the industry, few have remained friends and stay in touch, others have moved on and that's okay. We all learn the good, the bad and the ugly in this business. But friends you can count on are important and make the tough days a little easier. xxoo
BL, you know you will always make me smile. We have know one another for so many years. You were one of the first people I ever met and I'm blessed to know you as well.
DeleteI have met lots of people, especially 'virtually' over the past few years. Most are wonderfully warm, a few have personality issues and some have become friends. I try to learn from each encounter. My hubby has been the person who has facilitated the most change, I truly am a better person from having him in my life. And you are a wonderfully warm person to interact with Savannah and I have enjoyed reading your posts. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteElf, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have enjoyed getting to know you as well. You are right we do meet many different people but no matter what they leave a mark.
DeleteYup, you're one of them Savannah, and I'm happy we've met in real life too. Lunch soon?
ReplyDeleteeden
Eden, thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. You are one of those people as well. You know I wanna do lunch. You don't even have to ask..LOL
DeleteI know I have. At first I was shocked how supportive authors could be, but I think it's also based on personality types. Thankfully I've become friends with many who I would be glad to be real life friends with also. You included :-)
ReplyDeleteDelilah, I was shocked as well. I think because you do not expect it. You are also one of those who have touched my life, so thank you...
DeleteAbout 10 years ago, a woman approached me at a writer's meeting, said she had read a book of mine (I didn't write erotic romance then), said she was writing one and asked me if I'd do a beta read on it. I agreed.
ReplyDeleteWe became very good friends. I don't think I've connected with another individual the way I did with her. She brought joy to my life and became the sister I never had.
She was the first person I told I was writing erotic romance. Her comment to me was, "it might not be my cup of tea, but you are."
She died in April of this year, two months after being diagnosed with cancer. She was only 54.
Cara, I'm so sorry for your loss. It is so rare to find a person who touches your life. I hope that one day you find another soul that will connect with you like your friend had.
DeleteThank you, Savannah.
DeleteCara, I thank you as well and you are very welcome.
DeleteSavannah, it is amazing how close you get to people that you meet online especially! I was saying to a good friend of mine from Rio that it is neat how her and I speak a different language but our computers help bridge that gap for us. She will always be special to me and yet she lives a world away and we have so much in commong! I think that is so cool and that we are all blessed with wonderful friendships that to books and the internet! I count you as one of my special friends that I have met online as well Savannah!
ReplyDeleteJen, it is amazing. I use to have friends all over the globe when I was younger. We all shared a love of a boy band and were part of a fan club. We never met but the beauty was we wrote letters and were friends. You are one of those special friends as well. I'm so honored and blessed to know you.
DeleteBeautiful Savannah - just like you.
ReplyDeleteYes...I've met a few that have changed my life forever...and they are stuck with me--I'm kinda like a dog with a bone I guess *blushes* <3
Havan, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are as well. I think people don't mind..I don't mind being stuck with you. You are so wonderful.
