Do you like my swag baby???

Oh my freaking goodness...I left my thumbdrive at home...all my goodies are on it...I feel so undressed right now *heads desk giggling*
*slouches and pseudo smiles* soooooooo...whatcha doin? *eye roll*
um...no...no this is not
one of those clamps
*heads desk*

Okay I'm gonna make today short and simple and use it for my own personal gain...muahahahahah
GRL is coming up (GayRomLit)...and even though I won't be attending *raises hands to quiet down booing...giggles*...yeah I have no ego right? hehe Okay—I won't be going to GRL...but a couple VIP friends will be attending and have offered to hand out swag for me...

I asked this question on my author page on FB and got some great ideas...so I wanted to spread this question out to ya'll...
What kind of swag do you look forward to from the authors you read? What kind would you keep? What kind might you toss once you clear that author's table?
****of topic...but whenever you hear swag don't you just want to swing your hips? hehe****
sooooooo...whatcha planning
on measuring? hehe
...and to expand on my question just a smidgeon...
Do you prefer cover art on your swag or would you rather have a personalized type of picture that you can relate with one particular author? (kinda like a symbol that the author uses that is like their trademark)
It isn't too late for authors to order more swag for the upcoming main event...so give us some ideas...please and thank you! *bows*

Don't Judge A Book By The Cover...Well Maybe...

Photo purchased from/Copyright Dreamstime

So imagine you want into the book store and see a hot looking book on the shelf with the most delectable cover. You can't take your eyes off it..As you approach closer you pick up the book and start to read the back blurb. It's even sexier than the cover...

OMG you must have this book..You are already thinking of getting lost in the story as you turn the pages...

Now imagine..you walk up to the shelf and see the worst cover you could possibly know...You glance at it not because it looks interesting but because it is just so bad..You quickly glance away and work your eyes over the shelf to a better looking cover..

You never pick up the book with the bad cover but do think to yourself.."What was someone thinking when they made that."

What if it turned out that the book with the hot cover and amazing back blurb turned out to be a horrible read and you missed out on an amazing story because you passed on the book with a horrible cover?

We all know how important book covers are when it comes to stories. Being an author I strive to always have one heck of a cover to match my story and to grab the readers attention.

Lets face it, a cover is the first thing we see when we look at a book. There is a small window of time as a person makes up their mind to pick the book up, read the blurb and make the purchase.

Even though we authors always want to have the best cover that reflects our books and we fill out cover art forms to give the cover artist an idea of what we want, it is not always possible to have the perfect cover.

Sometimes we are stuck with a cover that we might not like or be too fond of.

Just because a cover is not the best looking doesn't mean that we should pass up checking out the book. Yes there is a saying Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover...but sadly we do..

So I think that people should give all books a chance. Decide for yourself if the book is worth reading or not even if the cover is not the most desirable.

As a reader have you ever judged a book by the cover and later found out you passed up a wonderful story? How important is a cover for you when you are picking up a possible book to read?

How HOT Do You Like Your Sex Toys?

CASSANDRE DAYNE

Yeah, you heard me - SEX TOYS.  Now that doesn’t seem like a huge fantasy – does it? But the interesting thing about sex toys is that it remains a very private issue for a lot of people and especially men. I’m not going to get into the logistics and comparisons of the types of toys but let’s just say whatever your kink is you can find it. Until several years ago you really couldn’t find anything other than your basic vibrator unless you went to one of “those” stores. You know the ones I mean, the type sitting in ugly concrete buildings nestled in that not so nice part of town. Usually back off the main street you could park around back and hopefully not be seen when you went inside. That way if you purchased anything like a very kinky magazine to an anal plug your friends and family wouldn’t know what you were purchasing. The store keepers even placed your items in a plain brown bag so no one had any idea.

Boy, is it different today. I recently purchased a slew of sexy items for a conference and not only was the store a beautifully maintained well-lit location on a very main drag in my town but the bags were pink plastic with their logo slapped all over them. Hey, while it was an excuse I had a blast and even the few men purchasing sexy videos and kinda giving me the eye seemed fairly comfortable. But if you honestly think about it, you can purchase anything you could ever imagine on line. Type in the word sex toys and a myriad of on-line stores pop up. Some have been around longer than you would imagine and now you can have your selection of not just a couple vibrators but about three dozen or so in various shapes, sizes and yes colors. I love the purple Rabbit vibrator and the hot pink one.

Whatever your selection you items come in plain brown packages at your door and no one, including your UPS man has any idea. So why do people continue to hide away from the fact they not only purchase items but enjoy using them? Hmmm… Is it perhaps because they think if they admit they’re using them then they’re not that good in bed? Hogwash!  The concept for using them is to develop more playtime alone and with your partner. Sex toys are designed to develop and titillate new sensations in and on your body. From massage oil to anal plugs most places have it all.

I have found with women they continue to hide their toys away in a drawer and a lot of times use them very privately as if telling their partner is also a bad thing. Now, of course you have to keep them hidden from children. Not sure how I’d want to explain what the long chartreuse rubber thing is used for but… What’s wrong with purchasing them together as a couple? Men enjoy sensations and there are wonderful toys designed just for men. There are also others designed for couples.

And no, its not all about kink and spanking either. However if you’re into a bit more than a plug and a vibrator you can find that too. From electric play to spanking benches they’re out there. I had no idea until I started writing erotic and exploring just how many there are. There are iron forgers who design branding irons and leather men who do nothing but create especially designed collars. It’s amazing what you can find. And we won’t even talk about the medical play equipment.

Don’t let these extremes pull you away. What most couple are looking for is stimulation and excitement and even bringing a little romance back into their sex life. Imagine a scenario:  No kids and you have the house to yourself on a snowy Saturday night. There’s a fire roaring in the fireplace with the snow falling softly outside. The bearskin rug is right by the hearth There’s soft jazz music playing and you have an open bottle of wine and a basket. What’s in the basket? Massage oil, vibrators, anal plugs, fuzzy handcuffs, nipple clamps and rope. Hmmm… does that give you any sexy ideas? To each their own but playtime is just that and if you’re uncomfortable you can try something else. The price range is all over the place from extremely affordable to downright outrageous. It’s all up to you.

Don’t be afraid – fill your life with passion.

Oh the HORROR!

Happy Saturday!

So the other day I was getting on the bus--there's going to be many of my braZen posts that start out like that bee-tee-dub (HIMYM reference there). But the other day I was getting on the bus. The driver stop in front of me and thankfully everyone that was on the bus got off through the back door (like they're supposed to anyway). I took one step forward and this guy, PUSHED me out of the way to get on the bus. Now, I was pissed off as hell and was about to put my foot up his ass when the driver suddenly slammed the bus into park and rose from his seat.

Now this driver is one of them big, hulking, bear looking brothas wearing a shirt that was way too small around his muscular arms with dark glasses. He stopped us all from getting on the bus, waved to the boy and yelled. "Come here!"

I was terrified. He wasn't directing the anger at me, but his voice left me trembling and not in a good way. But I digress. So he called the guy back and with his hands on the hips yelled at him about the importance of being good to women. I thought it was hilarious once I got over how big this man's biceps were. I mean there he was, lecturing a guy who was old enough to know better. Then to my shock and horror, he kicked the guy off the bus tell him to wait for the next one.  I was happy he stood up for me but mortified that he was kicking this guy off the bus to wait for the next one. Then it dawned on me that was his way of punishing the kid for what he did.

So it got me to thinking, aside from the fact chivalry has died a slow, painful, icky (dramatic much?) death, why would he do a thing like that? The guy I mean--why would he see me standing in front of the door and shoves his way onto the bus. It didn't occur to him to wait his turn. It's almost like he reverted to grade school where he wanted what he wanted and he wanted it now. Forget the fact for a second that I'm a woman and he isn't afraid of a girl, he just showed me that no matter how old some guys get they don't learn to wait their turn. It's the need we all seem to have to have instant gratification, instant noodles, instant cereals, instant payment, instant everything. Everything these days require no patience. Every thing we do is supposed to be right there, at the ready as though waiting for us all the time. So our children grow up impatient and mean.  Maybe that was why he did it.

I am trying to grow into a better person. The old me would have snapped but I found myself thinking of the underlining reason for his actions.

Have a great Saturday!

Dream A Little Dream...

Image purchased from/ Copyright (c) 123RF Stock Photos

I've been thinking a lot over the last few weeks. Looking back at how quickly time has passed.

I remembered when I was younger and someone asked me about dreams and what I wanted to be when I grew up.

Honestly, I wanted to be a music superstar. Yeah I know. Doesn't everyone?
I always had a passion for music and words. I never knew about being a published author even though I always loved to write.

As a kid I always dreamed big...I knew one thing I wanted to change the world with my words.

We all dream as children and want to be something, but as we get older dreams change. Sometimes we even stop dreaming. We never have to stop.

We must dream a little dream..Dreams are what push us to take certain journeys and steps in life to get to where we want to go.

Without dreams there is something missing.

My dreams have changed especially the last few years. I now dream to be happy and to write. To be in love and to share my stories with all the beautiful people out there. I dream to one day travel the world and see the beauty that it holds.

So tell me, do you still have dreams of things you want?

Have you stopped dreaming?

The Apprentice DOM

In celebration of my sexy, new story Hot Summer Nights: Molokai, (which is officially an ARe Best seller!) I've decided to write a sexy lil morsel for you all to enjoy.

Detective Moses Krew walked into his office and hurled his jacket to the back of a chair. Slamming the door shut behind him, he took a moment to hold his breath then pushed it out his mouth with a low woosh. He stood in the centre of the room, hands a-kimbo and glared off into space.

MOSES
If that man thinks he was going to waltz back into THAT house and grovel, he was going to wait until hell froze over.

But he loved Danny--what in the hell did he mean by I have some submissive tendencies? When it comes to anything different in sex Moses was clueless. Well he wasn't really Clueless, he just wasn't sure any of his lovers were interested in him wanting to pull their hair and spank their asses.  But Danny was different.

Hauling in some air, he took a step toward his desk but stopped and swung around as there was a knock on the door. "Go away," he shouted. "I mean it."

The door swung open and Moses growled.

"I'm not going anywhere," Danny said. The anger in his voice was evident. "What the hell is your problem? You asked me to trust you, right? And the moment, the fucking moment,  I tell you I like it a little different you bail?"

"I didn't bail! And keep your voice down!" Moses walked around him to close the door before turning to look at him. "I didn't bail on you. I just don't know what you want."

"You don't know what I want? Really? I know you're not a virgin."

"Don't be an asshole."

"Then read between the lines, Moses."

"No I want you to spell it out for me. I'm just that dense."

Danny sighed. He walked closer and rubbed his palms up and down moses' arms. Moses met his eyes and for a moment all they did was stand there in the silence. Finally Danny spoke.

"What I want, is for you to DOM me."

"What does that mean?"

"Dom---short for dominate."

"I don't want to hurt you."

Danny laughed softly. "You won't. I'll teach you Moses. And if you don't like it we don't have to.  We can sort out the details a little later but this will be amazing, I swear."

Moses smiled then,  reaching a hand behind Danny's head to pull the man's forehead to his lips. Deep down he knew he would do anything Danny asked. Chuckling at that thought, he looked into Danny's eyes again. "Tonight when I come home, you should be naked."

"Say it like you mean it, Moses. You want to see this ass? Demand it."

For a moment Moses simply stared into those beautiful, hypnotizing green eyes. "Tonight when I come home. Be naked."

He felt Danny shivered in his arms and knew he'd said it right.

Slow Dancing

Do you remember when you were a kid, let’s say, in Jr. High? OH, even High School, and your friends had parties at their houses? Okay, let me use me as an example. Though when I went to school Jr. High didn’t exist… Our school was a K-8 school located in Chicago, IL. So, anyway, we used to have parties, and ones we were allowed to invite the boys to. My parents at the time owned a pretty big house, and it had a rather large basement, a perfect party area, so I often had the most parties.

Now, back in that day vinyl records were the thing, and we used to “hire” a friend of ours to be the D.J. What’s so cute and funny here is that IF one of us girls were throwing a party, we’d tell the “D.J.” what to play the most of. And let me tell you, the music back in the late 70’s early 80’s, was a whole lot different than it is today, but dancing is dancing, though it has changed a bit over the years with the new techno beats and what have you, music is still music. Dancing is still dancing, and these days unlike back then, fast music gives one the permission to get up close and next to the person of their desire or dancing partner or however you want to look at it and physically get nice and close, almost going as far as having sex right on the dance floor, but that’s not what I’m talking about.

When we were kids, we didn’t physically touch during fast songs, and it’s funny looking back now to those days. The boys all gathered on one side of the room and the girls on the other, and we’d all be holding plastic cups of punch of all things. In my basement there was a strobe light, so the lights were dimmed way down and the music began… We were in heaven. A fast song was played then three slow songs. And that’s when we had the most fun. Slow dancing with our boyfriends and being held close, our heads on their shoulders, their arms wrapped around our waists, and if those hands “slipped,” the more slow dancing we did.

There’s nothing in the world, outside of sex that is, like slow dancing, not even the near sexual experience one has when dancing fast these days to the music, where one is grinding their ass against the pelvis, crotch or whatever of their dancing partner(s), wandering hands all but exposing the girlie bits, or leaving very little to the imagination… either way. It’s the slow sensual dance that I love more. Arms wrapped around your partner, bodies close, swaying as one, feeling the beat of the music as if it’s in your blood, smelling the cologne/perfume on their neck, eyes closed so all of your other senses are sharper, especially the sense of feeling. Right?

That’s the bonus of a good slow dance. The feelings. The physical and emotional feelings you get… Unless of course you dance with a nitwit who has their eyes on everyone and everything but you… If that’s the case, I’d leave the ass standing in the middle of the dance floor alone, because he/she does not deserve your time. It’s those feelings that begin to climb as you hold or are held tight, perhaps the hand holding you moves up and down slowly, hips moving with yours, perhaps the smell of that person makes your stomach quiver in good ways, and eventually you’ll forget the other people around you and all there is, all that exists in the world at that time is that song and you and your partner. That’s magic. That’s special. That’s the beauty of a slow dance.
